How cancellations and payment issues are handled for rides booked through Majhi Sawari.
You can cancel a ride at any point before it starts, directly from the app, and select a reason. There is currently no cancellation fee. Cancelling frequently or right before a driver arrives may still affect driver availability for you in future, since it takes drivers off the road for no reason.
Cash is paid directly to the driver at the end of the ride and never passes through Majhi Sawari — there is nothing for us to refund. Any dispute about a cash amount should be raised as a support ticket in the app immediately after the ride.
Online payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay, and are only ever marked complete after their systems verify the transaction — a ride is never marked paid on a customer's or driver's say-so alone.
If you're charged for a ride that didn't happen, charged twice for the same ride, or believe an online payment was processed in error, contact us within 7 days of the transaction with your ride ID. We'll investigate against our records and Razorpay's transaction log, and where a genuine error is confirmed, initiate a refund to your original payment method. Refunds typically take 5–7 business days to reflect, depending on your bank or UPI provider.
If a driver cancels after accepting your ride, you won't be charged, and you can immediately search for another driver from the app.
Raise a support ticket from within the app (attached to the ride in question) or email us at the address below with your ride ID, the date, and what went wrong. We aim to respond to payment-related tickets within 3 business days.
